player 1: DPAD = movement, START = begin
player 2: ABXY = movement, 2 = begin
In game, START pauses. ESC (Fn+Q) reeurns to main menu when paused. START
un-pauses. At the main menu, SELECT opens the options menu. SELECT saves
options and returns to menu. ESC = quit when at main menu.
in-game, firing is automatic.
When entering a single player high-score, you can use the A-Z and 0-9 keys (no
symbols) and the ENTER key to get your name in. Delete letters by moving left
on the DPad. Two player scores must be entered with up/down/left/right of your
chosen controller (either the DPAD or the ABXY buttons for player 1 and player
When playing a standard game, there's a challenge level every ten levels,
starting at level 5. These levels are insanely difficult and visually confusing,
but the scoring is doubled during that level. If you complete the level, there's
a bonus of 2500 for each surviving player. Players that don't survive get
nothing, and any score they achieve during the challenge is removed. The
challenge is failed if you lose a life - the levels will then resume. Losing a
life does not affect your lives counter in the rest of the game. You cannot
earn more lives by eating fruit - but fruit scores large bonuses.
