I just uploaded a new version of the PND. Now it's categorized as a simulation game (per loon's suggestion), and Perl scripting works.

As it is based on the 'game of life' I expected to find it under games / simulation & strategy. It does not really matter where it appears as long as this is clear to the user. This is a superb version of a 'life' simulator. Well worth a post on the forum in software news IMHO.

Thanks loon. I wasn't sure which category to put it in. It doesn't really seem like a "game" to me, since the computer is "playing" it, not the user. It is possible to make pretty graphics with it, so I put it in the graphics category. In which category did you expect to find it?

Awesome stuff, love messing about with Conway's Game of Life. Works really well on Pandora, slightly hard to find though as it appears under graphics on the Xfce menu. Many thanks for the port.
