Description:
Trust is a weakness.

You play an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporations. Your tasks involve hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, erasing evidence, or framing innocent people.

Additional Info
This is a completely legal/free release, with the explicit blessing of Introversion. Data files are not required, but redistribution is completely prohibited.

Best played with a mouse or stylus. This is not a very keyboard-driven game.

Some issues from the original Uplink source remain. You'll need to right click if you get a window stuck to your mouse cursor.

This is the first software-rendered GL release using glshim and TinyGLES, and has some rendering artifacts. The news window leaks text way out the side.

However, the software renderer is the only reason it's close to playable. It beats the hardware-accelerated version's performance by 10-20x, and even has better font rendering.

I'm a couple of years late on this. Enjoy.

Changelog:

1.5.4.1:
- More than doubled performance.
- Fixed glitchy triangles.
- Fixed "Fill me in" behavior on startup.
- Fixed a crash with offscreen rendering.

1.5.4.2:
- Force game into main menu on launch.

Yes, this did work correctly in the previous version. The old accounts are saved correctly and can be loaded from the menu, but somehow they aren't detected at start.

@lunixbochs works very well, but is it normal that every time you start it up, you need to recreate a new agent ? Was that the normal desktop behavior as well ? I can't recall it working this way.

Thanks for the improved version. No real problems doing a couple of missions. The nodes in the world map could be slightly larger I think. Also the news list isn't clipped/wrapped properly.
