Description:
Abuse is a dark 2D side-scrolling platform game developed by Crack dot Com in 1995. It features beautiful lighting, realistic animation and nasty alien-like creatures to destroy. It is now maintained by Sam Hocevar in an attempt to prevent it from vanishing from the Internet.

Since Abuse's public domain release in 1997, the following improvements were made:

video output uses the SDL library, with optional OpenGL rendering
64-bit platforms support
lots of crashes, memory leaks and general bugs fixed
abuse-lib, abuse-frabs and abuse-data were merged into one big dataset
easier edition of data files using abuse-tool

i think the biggest issue with the controls is not being able to easily right-click and hold (and therefore use special powers), the rest of it is very playable especially if you use the stylus

@Monkfish I will rework the controls sometimes soon. I can probably change the nubs assignment, for the buttons I am not sure yet.

@Jepp - this is the update to the latest sources for this project. See description to see the latest changes that I could find from the author's site.

Certainly the most playable version of Abuse to date on the Pandora, much better than the versions on the old repo. I cant help feeling the controls need some refinement, perhaps switching the nubs around, or putting jump and fire on buttons, or maybe even using the L and R buttons for mouse clicks.
