@Bagpussawake, you may want to try ProjectLibre as well to see if you get better results when importing the Microsoft Project files. It feels a bit faster, too : http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=projectlibre

Works fine for me, I can import Microsoft Project files. The only thing in the ones I've imported is I lost the labels on the bars on my Gant chart. Also, the Pandora is great but screen real estate is a bit tight! Good enough to get you out a hole though...
