@onpon4 : hum, indeed it does that. In fact it use the gconf deamon that got started by xfce to store its config.

On second thought, I think it's ~/.gconf/apps/gedit-2. Wherever it is, it's in home.

It writes its settings there, in ~/gnome2/gedit if I'm not mistaken.
