Makagiga is an open-source, easy-to-use, portable application for doing a variety of tasks, such as todo listing, text editing, or RSS reading. Plugins are used to implement its various capabilities.
It requires Java and it is recommended to use the Official Java.PND from the repo.

a bit sluggish (but not as much as other PIM's under java), and very useful. Nice set of hotkeys. Maximized stays under the menu bar, so you do not lose that. Needs Oracle Java to run.
