Rockbox is an open source audio player. It has been in development since 2001 and receives new features, tweaks and fixes every day to provide you with the best possible music listening experience.
Important Features:
- Supports over 20 sound codecs:
- MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, game console music and many more
- Navigate music by folders or tag database
- Gapless playback and crossfading
- Ability to create your own themes
- Album art support
To be honest I would rather see the Database Creation getting fixed to only scan SD cards... or adding an option to set the scan path dynamically...This has been annoying me on the Android Version too... where I recompiled it myself to fix this.

Rockbox on my mp3 player has a bunch of games, many of which are really good. If they aren't really big, would it be worth including them in the pnd?

There is a problem you need to address in your code.On creating a database it caches ALL media, including OS sounds. This is easily fixable, in the Rockbox Source there are two references to the DB-Cache function. They take a single char * arg, the start path ("/"), change it to "/media/".

IMHO the best player yet for in-car-audio. Easy, big buttons, good to read and not too much information. When driving small targets are a killer, when you want to choose a different album. Rockbox fits nicely, even though there is still room for optimization :)
