SoX (Sound eXchange) is the Swiss Army knife of sound processing tools: it can convert sound files between many different file formats and audio devices, and can apply many sound effects and transformations, as well as doing basic analysis and providing input to more capable analysis and plotting tools.

SoX really belongs installed in one of the execution path folders, like "/usr/local/bin", linked to an SD card folder instead of being mounted as a PND.

Tried to compile Studio, but it's difficult and not updated since 2001. It will take me some time, ;)

If you could package SOX with Studio as GUI, it would be great : http://sourceforge.net/projects/studio/ - should be no problem for Pandora as it uses Tcl/Tk.

Had the same bug as Zink. Conversion is great. "play" has buffer underruns on mp3, use something else to play back. "rec" does not have nice default settings. To record: sox -t oss -c 1 /dev/adsp recording.mp3 try: sox -q -t oss -v 18.0 -c 1 /dev/adsp recording.mp3 trim 0 00:05 tempo 2

Wow. There is a utility for Windows which allows for conversion and looping of mp3/wave tracks into a GameCube music format, BRSTM. It was based on SoX, and now the same functionality is on my Pandora.. Just amazing.
