- Connect to the internet and run xu4 - it should prompt you to download the game data automatically. If that does not work, then

- Get the ultima4.zip from e.g. here:
http://www.thatfleminggent.com/ultima/u4download.html

- Put it into the appdatadirectory xu4.

- Run the app again. It should start up.

- Optionally you can get the u4upgrad.zip from
http://www.moongates.com/u4/upgrade/Upgrade.htm
and put it into the appdatadirectory too.

To play the game one should unzip the ultima4.zip and read the included documentation. (T)alk to all the townspeople, ask their name, job and follow up with questions about topics they mention (shrine, valor, honesty, etc). It is necessary to take notes of hints from conversations in-game.

the game is searching for ultima4.zip (lower case); so it fails on case sensitive appdata (e.g. ext formatted sd card); after manual renameit works for me

Sorry to hear you havin problems Hooka. My download is here: /media/GAMES/pandora/appdata/xu4/ULTIMA4.ZIP and xu4 finds the data. (GAMES is my sd1 volum e name of course). Do you have an internet connection running when you first run the pnd?

Automagic downloading is broken and I can't for the life of me get this running, I downloaded the zips from the aforementioned links manually and put them in SD:/Pandora/appdata/xu4 but it always asks me if I want to download and says I don't have the files...
