TORCS is a highly portable multi platform car racing simulation. It is used as ordinary car racing game, as AI racing game and as research platform. It runs on Linux (all architectures, 32 and 64 bit, little and big endian), FreeBSD, OpenSolaris, MacOSX and Windows (32 and 64 bit). The source code of TORCS is licensed under the GPL ("Open Source").

TORCS features more than 50 different cars, more than 20 tracks, and 50 opponents to race against. Your can steer with a joystick or steering wheel, if the device is supported by your platform. It is also possible to drive with the mouse or the keyboard. Graphic features lighting, smoke, skidmarks and glowing brake disks. The simulation features a simple damage model, collisions, tire and wheel properties (springs, dampers, stiffness, ...), aerodynamics (ground effect, spoilers, ...) and much more. The gameplay allows different types of races from the simple practice session up to the championship.

Additional Info
The Open Source Racing Car Simulator

This port use glshim.

Some warning:
1. Remove the Mirror (with '9') for better framerate. Change view to inside view with no cockpit also for a bit better framerate (with 'F2' 3 or 4 times...).
2. There are some precision texture bugs clearly visible, but fixing that seems difficult, has it has to be done globaly for all texture coord of the landscape.
3. Default controls are set to Dual Nubs: Left Nub for turning, Right Nub for accelerate/brake. This can be changed in options sceen. All Pandora Button should be accessibles.

If you don't like Dual Nubs mode, you can change left_nub and right_nub file in appdata/torcs. Put "mouse" and "mbuttons" inside (without the quotes) to get the mouse back. You will have to change the configuration for the player.

Waiting for Speed Dreams fork. It should be better at simulation and steering than TORCS, but will need more resources. I need to try this with G25 wheel, ;)

Very good port, unfortunately it's a little too demanding for the Pandora. It will be a good benchmark for the Pyra and to showcase how much more powerful the Pyra could be. Hopefully!

This simulator seem much more elaborated than skunks, yet there is the same sucky steering model there (steering wheel self-centers instantly, etc). Seems like progremmers only ride bicycles nowadays =)
