To change the 2 buttons to mouse buttons automatically on boot
menu -> settings -> desktop -> session and startup -> In the startup, add "pnd_run -1 /*path to pnd*/"

I use this most of the time with my right nub used for scrolling. This is really helpful and my favorite way to mouse.

I switch back and forth with this so often that I think it wouldn'thurt to include this in the firmware.

Great program! VERY useful for playing Myst in DOSBox with Windows 3.1. I have a few suggestions though. You should make it so when you move the mouse buttons to A and B; PgUp, PgDn, Home, and End move to the right nub. Also, Y should become double-click and X should become middle-click.

Do you think you could release this under a free software license (if it's pretty trivial, maybe a simple one like the GNU all-permissive license or WTF license)?

Nice! I wish I'd known about this sooner. A quick mention in the PND description or additional info that you return it to the normal mouse by running "Normal Mouse" would be a useful pointer, though; it didn't occur to me, so I had to look back at the comments.
