Despite the d-pad controls, I did get to level 8 on my second go, and tha big bird means you can't spend long hanging around ladders.

l/r, which I find easier to hit the chords to go from platform to ladder and back again. You can hit those chorded moves using the d-pad but you need to be precise with your diagonals.

Also, it doesn't have the facility to adjust the controls. The default keys do work very well with the d-pad handling u/d/l/r and all the buttons causing you to jump, but I'm used to playing this with different hands controlling u/d and

This plays almost as precisely as a BBC Micro playing the game. It's missing a high score table and a start screen, but the game itself plays perfectly as far as I can tell.
