@ekianjo: you are right, I didn't full flash. I'll take a look at how far down I'd have to recompile to remove the 2.6 dep.

@eyecreate - i did that, but to no avail. still crashes at start. the pnd out shows that it tries to load a Python2.6 library, that's probably why it crashes on 1.60. Did you reflash your Pandora when you tested with 1.60, or simply did "update os" ? I suspect both are not equivalent.
