Thanks to PDCurses for the niceish SDL interface you get from the default menu entry for this.
Sources to both PDCurses (which as named is public domain) and sudokuapp (GPLv2+) are inside the PND. Also included is a binary linked against the default ncurses library that you can run from a terminal if you so desire.
